SEASON ENDS 2009
A rainy weekend at Mosten in Denmark, only force us to create some fun. This time it was time to have a Fjatti look-alike show. It definitive creates a lot of laughing and smiling faces.
Guess who is the original??

After a season with promising times, good progress with the bike, it all ends in Santa Pod, England.
The first qualification run gives us 6,75 , behind Lorenz strong 6,57. Also Koedam did a nice personal best with 6.857 and 3`rd place.
The second qualification run I work with the bike and didn't give full throttle before 200 mtr, and got only 6.98. Bengtsson run 6.73, and push us down to 3´rd spot.
Under the service we discover some bad crack in the clutch base structure. After a discussion we decide to weld the cracks,
3´rd run, we had to stop the engine after the burn out, cause of a leaking emergency shut of valve. Lorenz did another strong pass 6.55, and Per 6.70.
Final qualifying, last chance to improve. My team member from Hawgs Racing, Svein Olav and Trond runs 7.14 and 7.13. Their weekends best and into the ladder 6´th and 7´th place. Heezen run 6.851 and into 4´rd place. Our last qualifications run 6.9 and totally destruction of the clutch at 300 mtr. All towers were gone. Some parts shoot hole in the oil tank. Luckily no parts hit me, the clutch cover did work.
At this point we though the race was finish, but in the evening our tent champion Per Bengtsson showing up with a old clutch, and gives us the chance to build it in to our bike.
For the weekend we got a Super Twin Top Fuel Team from Germany helping us. Acka Reimer with three mechanics, show their skills and work the night through. Mona Myrseth from Islanders Top Methanol Dragster gives us her spaghetti boiler to make new clutch cover. We also had to change the rear wheel after damaging from the clutch explosion.

Next morning the Lightning was ready again for first elimination. First challenge was Trond, we ran our best 60ft in the weekend 1.13 but went up in smoke with a spinning tire after 1.4 second and out of the contest. Congratulation to Trond. Per take out Svein Olav who blows parts across the track in a engine explosion. Lorenz had to shut of cause of misfiring, so Per was already UEM champion 2009 at this point. Congratulation Per Bengtsson, who also Winn the tent championship. Heezen 6.68 take out Koedam 6.79 in a side by side.
Semifinal: Per 6.56 and personal best, take out Trond 7.58. Heezen 6.74 takes out Samu 7.28.
Final: Heezen 6.69, take out Per 6.93 who broke the cam belt. Congratulation Job.
Before the season start I suppose to see this four teams on top. I was right.
There are so many people I like to thank for their support and help.
First of all my team: Anne Marit, Axel, Bjørn, John Anders, Sven Erik, Jerry, Steinar and Kenneth.
Especially thanks to team Acka Reimer for all their helps, Mona for her spaghetti boiler, Bengtsson for parts, support and good behave in Norwegian support shirt. I really think Per is on the way out of his closet, he wants to be a Norwegian.

Thanks to all the Sponsors who helped me out in good and bad times during the season:
GB-tech, Jessheim Bilskade, Kim Johansen transport, Fannrem Motorverksted, Sande Gård, Profilhuset and VP-Racing Fuel.
Looking back, this has been a very interesting season. We started as 2´nd qualifier at Santa Pod, broke the primary belt in semifinal, and had problems with dropping cylinder. 3`rd qualifier in Finland, still struggle with dropping cylinder and jammed throttle shaft. Then we run personal best 1/8 mile at Mantorp 4.31 and were 1.st.qualifier, solve one problem but make another and were taken out in the first elimination. Winner of Dragchallenge Gardermoen, 4 straight 6 second runs in Hockenheim, 1st. qualifier and the first Super Twin team to run 6 second run in Hungary. We did a 3´rd qualification place in the finals.
Into next season we gone make new clutch, read and study all the data from this year and work hard to avoid small mistakes.
Thank you all, see you next season, greetings from Hans Olav Olstad, and all member of Olstad Racing Team.
