King Racing prepare for 2011

King Racing are once again set to take on the best that Europe can offer in 2011 with their strongest team ever in the quest for a sixth European Championship crown.

Following the sale of their previous multi championship winning machine to Petri Paljakka in Finland the team embarked on an exciting new state of the art project featuring a specification never before seen on a Top Fuel Bike. Such an ambitious project meant the team would be unable to defend their current champion status in 2010, however almost all of their extremely strong and loyal team of associates who were onboard for the previous five European Championships have agreed to remain supporting the team during this building phase, providing the best parts and services available.

In addition the team are extremely proud to announce that three new associates have joined forces in supporting the team with the new project:-

MTC Engineering is synonymous with the world of dragbike performance and has been supplying the market for decades. Well known for their innovation in clutch design for many types of dragbikes MTC are providing a state of the art multistage Top Fuel clutch as used in the first bike to run 250 mph in the quarter mile and to the multi US champion Tony Lang.

Worldwide Bearings are the leaders in provision of ceramic bearings. Featuring 40% less friction and 60% less weight than conventional steel bearings bearing life is increased, horsepower losses reduced and lower vibration and cooler running is experienced.

American Performance Engineering has an illustrious history of innovation in dragbike engineering. They supply simply the best wrist pins and cam chain management for Top Fuel Bikes.

However, despite the team’s anticipated hiatus for this season they have continued to make their presence felt on the dragstrip’s across Europe. The team have been supporting Petri Paljakka in his steep learning curve as the new owner of Europe’s most successful Top Fuel Bike and he has stepped up to the challenge, making new fans with his impressive mid six second passes in his very first year of racing and currently an impressive third in the championship going into the final round.

And in one of the most exciting developments of the season, the team have reached agreement with Eric Muccignato of France to ride the ex Brian Johnson record breaking and world renowned Imperial Wizard Puma (whilst he seeks a new buyer – contact ian@kingracing.com for details) to race at selected events at the end of this season commencing with the world famous NitrOlympX in Hockenheim, Germany. The bike is still one of the quickest and fastest bikes in the world, has propelled Johnson to many records both in Europe and the US, and was pivotal in the career of former US champion James Brantley who commenced his career on this bike before building a newer machine in conjunction with Steve and Larry McBride of Cycle Specialists.
