Team Cannon set for Finals

"Since the Summernationals and after going through the run data it was decided we needed to invest again!!! After numerous discussions we have upgraded our Mallory mags with state of the art MSD Harley ignitions, this in itself a major task for space alone with the added problem of needing a bigger battery pack unnecessary with the mags.

On top of all this we have a new 18 gpm Waterman pump with a new style BDK valve controlled by an AMS1000 to start with but discussions are underway with Sebastion Domingo @ NLR to get the latest AMS2000 when it is released at the PRI show in Dec. So to say I have been busy machining is an understatment, we have another rear drive pully and top hat, new fuel distribution blocks, mounts for the MSD etc. It has been a big task and we weren't sure if we were going to make it to the track but I can confirm that the super team has delivered and we will be at Santa Pod.

Most of this I have to say is down to Midgo for getting the motors rebuilt and fitting the and wiring the full bike but thanks also go to Roger Upperton for modifying the liners and machine work to the valves and pistons, Mike Vickers for the loan of the AMS1000 and Al Smith for your normal input and parts etc.

So we are almost ready to go to the track for the biggest meeting of the year and to see all of our friends that have been having fun racing round europe while we have been busy in the workshop. Let's see if we can put a tune up in all of these new parts and finally realise the potential this bike has to offer. It now has the best of every thing and only knowledge stops us from ripping off some good 6 second passes so lets hope for good weather and a bit of luck.

On a final note I would like to announce that we will be assisted at this event by LUCAS OILS and we hope we can carry this onto next year also. Whilst talking to Andy Carter at the Main Event and telling him of our bearing issues Andy gave us some Lucas oil to try. This turned out to be a good step forward as we did see better results from this oil and special additive and with this came the meeting with Les Downey of LUCAS UK & Tom Bogner of Lucas in the USA. Tom is the guy who actually blends the race oil so talking to the main man was a great insight and he and Les were very interested in our development and could see the results. All weekend we kept in touch with with Les and Tom and from this Les has kindly aggreed to support us this meeting. We will be wearing the shields of LUCAS OILS and we thank them for their valued support and Andy for the introduction.

See you all at the track.
